Before u read this you must first renounce everything you know, for learned knowledge is not pure thought, but repetition.
Look at the world today, as it is, in all its monumental glory and splendor. The creations of man that have shaped the earth into what it is. A planet full of life, and only one creature that is truly self aware. The Human.
The thought ?I am? is in itself the existence of man. Without the capacity for thought in itself, there would be nothing, or would there be everything without knowing it? We live a life not our own, but one taught to us by the previous generation. Only since the beginning of recorded time has there been the possibility of knowing for certain what had happened prior to ones own existence. The purpose of this writing is to physically establish the thoughts in my mind as they bring themselves to me.
I am. The smallest most complete sentence in the English language. What better a way to commence a philosophical excursion of the brain then at the beginning. This, most perfect of all thoughts stipulates that the human is capable of knowing itself. Any action of the body, be it mental or physical is allowed by nature to have occurred. Purity in itself lies within the child born. This does then ask, how any action chosen by the body be deemed incorrect. Over time, the population of the planet has evolved into sporadic societies slowly becoming closer to one. Society has decreed a life be given its limits by those inherited to them. These are more vivid in the ways of laws, morals and ethics. Each one a standard that applies to all creatures automatically, taking from them the use of individuality. We are herded at birth to become part of what is acceptable, but the ideal of acceptability has been decided by those we do not know. How does one therefore exist in his own right when his thoughts and actions are bonded by the non existent? How can a law of generations passed be still in effect for those who never agreed?
The law is what today has molded the world. People have risen to power by inheritance and rule with ideals they themselves do not understand. ?I think, therefore I am.? But the question remains. ?If I have all my life been told what to think, in a world where no thought is independently its own, then do I even exist?? In the most simplified manner I can conceive, the thought of one is bonded by the notion of the yes and no, the acceptable and unacceptable. The ability of abstract thought and self awareness allows us to choose. This choice is the true fabric of life itself. Without choice we are nothing more than another parasite destined to fulfill its intended fate. For the waves will crash, the rocks will fall. But given the choice, would they follow their path?
